Portuguese wine is the result of traditions introduced to the region by ancient civilizations, such as the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, and mostly the Romans. Portugal started to export its wines to Rome during the Roman Empire. Port is the most famous and most copied wine from Portugal, and it grows in the Douro Valley.

Started in 1999, a partnership between leading Port producers and Douro vineyard owners Symington Family Estates, and French famous winemaker and former owner of Chateaux Cos d’Estournel, Bruno Prats. With the objective to produce top Douro DOC still wines, proving the World that the region can produce top red wines apart from Port using traditional Port grape varieties from Symington Family finest vineyards, with the knowledge of a top French Bordeaux winemaker. PRATS & SYMINGTON is now the owner of two prime Douro estates, QUINTA DE RORIZ and QUINTA DA PERDIZ.
